Art Impact: What the results look like...

As a result of following our planned art and design curriculum throughout the school, our pupils flourish in their creativity and are confident in applying a wide range of skills and techniques to new units of study, or when completing pieces of art for enjoyment. They are equipped with the skills to evaluate the work of themselves and of others, and to talk confidently about their creativity and sources of inspiration. They are well prepared for their next stage of education and are able to carry forth the skills and understanding needed to succeed.

Have a look at some of the pieces we feel most proud of:

Key Stage 1 outcomes:

During the Autumn, Beech class experimented with colour mixing and creating texture with paint.  They were inspired by the painting 'Starry Night' by Van Gogh.  Here is there final artwork.

Key Stage 2 outcomes:

Here is some of the textile work created in KS2.  In Year 3 & 4 the children learn about Shibori and in Year 5 & 6, they have experimented with felting.

 Completed Felting January 2024.
